- Clean the back of the plate by hand, especially if the plate is new. Use only dishwashing liquid and warm water. Rinse thoroughly and either air dry or wipe with clean towels. The plate must be clean, so the disc plate hanger bonds properly. Do not use any harsh chemicals to clean just the dish soap.
- With your fingers, like you are finger painting, mix in a little water into the glue on the disc plate hanger. Keep adding and stirring the water into the glue so that you get a cloudy/milky white sticky paste. The larger the disc plate hanger you have, you will need to use more water and stir a little longer.
- Let the disc plate hanger sit for 3-7 minutes.
- Repeat step 2 using a little water and letting the disc plate hanger sit for 1-2 minutes.
- Apply the disc plate hanger to the plate making sure the "D" ring is in the correct position for the plate design. Press firmly and rub well to push out the air bubbles.
- After 24 hours and before hanging, test the strength of the adhesion by pulling firmly on the ring. This will determine that the disc plate hanger has bonded to your plate properly.
TO REMOVE THE DISC Soak the entire plate with the disc plate hanger in hot soapy water. The disc plate hanger will come off easily without damaging or scuffing your plate.
